New Delhi, April 25: An electrical transformer fire in the Laxmi Nagar J Extension area of Delhi escalated, impacting several residential buildings during the early hours of Saturday.

The fire department reported that eight fire engines were dispatched to manage the situation. Fortunately, there have been no reported injuries or fatalities.

Fire Officer Rajesh Kumar Shukla mentioned that the department received numerous calls about the transformer fire. “We got multiple alerts from various locations, including residents using their mobile phones. The first report came in around 12:45 A.M.,” he stated.

Initially, four fire engines were sent to the scene. However, upon arrival, it was evident that the fire had spread to adjacent apartments, prompting the dispatch of additional units. The exact cause of the fire remains unknown.

In another incident, a fire broke out in a slum area near Punjabi Bagh in New Delhi on Friday. The fire department responded quickly, with fire engines arriving shortly after the alert to control the flames and prevent further spread.

Similar to the previous incident, there were no casualties or injuries reported. Authorities are investigating the cause of this fire as well.

Earlier this week, a significant fire occurred at a shoe factory in Delhi’s Narela area on Wednesday morning, causing alarm in the vicinity. The incident took place around 7:45 A.M. in the Bhorgarh Industrial Area, according to officials.

Thick black smoke billowed from the factory as firefighters worked to extinguish the flames. Initially, 15 fire engines were deployed, but as the situation worsened, the number increased to 24. No casualties have been reported, and officials are closely monitoring the ongoing situation.
