New Delhi, April 10: In a significant operation as part of its ongoing anti-cybercrime campaign 'Cyhawk 4.0,' the South District of Delhi Police successfully shut down a fraudulent call center located in Govindpuri, apprehending 11 individuals, including the key figures behind the scheme.

The suspects have been named as Sandeep Chaudhary, Ashwini Kumar (also known as Tushar), Neeraj Gupta, Abhay Kumar, Aman Bhagat, Aryan Nath, Siddharth Chauhan, Ankit Gupta, Dhruv, Akash Gupta, and Pawan Kumar. Furthermore, a female associate, Ritu Kumari, along with approximately 20 female staff members, have been identified and summoned for questioning.

This case emerged from an analysis of complaints submitted to the National Cybercrime Reporting Portal (NCRP), particularly a fraud case involving Rs 13,200 reported by a Gurugram resident. Investigators traced the funds to a mule bank account linked to various cyber frauds nationwide. The account holder, Pawan Kumar, was arrested and disclosed that he had provided his bank account and ATM details to his employer for a commission, leading authorities to a fraudulent entity named Herbitecture Healthcare.

Given the gravity of the situation, a specialized team from Police Station Saket was established, led by Inspector Nagender Nagar, with oversight from SHO Inspector Dinesh Kumar and ACP Hauz Khas Rituraj. The team comprised SI Ajay Kumar, SI Karan, ASI Ashok, ASI Prem Raj, HC Rajender, Constable Vipin, and Lady Constable Monika.

Upon receiving actionable intelligence, police executed a raid at the Govindpuri office, uncovering a fully operational illegal call center. During the operation, 31 employees—21 women and 10 men—were discovered actively engaged in telemarketing.

Authorities confiscated 35 mobile phones, three laptops, one desktop computer, 15 new SIM cards, 35 returned parcels containing medicines, and various bank-related documents, cheque books, and other incriminating evidence.

Investigations revealed that the suspects utilized social media platforms like Instagram and Facebook to promote weight-loss products. Interested individuals were contacted by call center agents who persuaded them to make purchases. Initial deliveries were made to establish trust, after which victims were misled into making further payments. In numerous instances, products were either not delivered or substituted, with false promises made. Eventually, the accused ceased communication after collecting significant amounts of money.

The primary suspects—Sandeep Chaudhary (27), Ashwini Kumar (23), and Neeraj Gupta (23)—were found to have prior experience in similar fraudulent activities and had initiated this operation in May 2023.

Ongoing investigations aim to trace financial transactions, identify more victims across India, and explore the involvement of additional associates.
