In a notable achievement in the fight against drug trafficking, the Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Chamba Police executed a five-hour raid in the Balu area based on reliable information. This operation resulted in the apprehension of Manoj Kumar (40), son of Prem Kumar, a resident of Balu, Post Office Sultanpur, District Chamba, who was caught with 42.37 grams of heroin (chitta).


Additionally, authorities confiscated 217 grams of gold, 479 grams of silver, two iPhones, and ₹64,640 in cash from the suspect. A case has been filed under the NDPS Act at the Police Station Sadar, Chamba, and further inquiries are ongoing.


Law enforcement officials remarked that this successful operation has created a ripple effect among drug traffickers in the area, underscoring the Chamba Police's dedication to combating the drug problem.
