Bengaluru, June 23: A disturbing triple homicide has emerged from the K.R. Puram locality of Bengaluru, where a woman and her boyfriend have been taken into custody for allegedly murdering her parents and younger sister. The police reported that the motive behind this heinous act was the family's disapproval of their relationship and inquiries regarding loans totaling Rs 30 lakh.

The suspects have been named as Shweta and her partner Kenneth. The case was uncovered on Tuesday and falls under the jurisdiction of the K.R. Puram Police Station.

The deceased have been identified as 55-year-old Somasundar, his 48-year-old wife Muttulakshmi, and their 20-year-old daughter Supriya. This family originally hailed from Tamil Nadu and had settled in Bengaluru.

Initial investigations suggest that Shweta's live-in relationship with Kenneth was met with strong opposition from her family.

Authorities believe that the ongoing family tensions, along with her parents' inquiries about the substantial loans, may have driven Shweta to commit the murders.

According to investigators, Shweta, residing with Kenneth in an apartment in Seegehalli, allegedly devised a plan to lure her family members to their home separately on Monday evening.

During the visit, an argument erupted between Muttulakshmi and Kenneth. It is alleged that during this confrontation, Kenneth and Shweta attacked Muttulakshmi with a machete and subsequently hid her body in the bathroom. They are also suspected of attempting to clean up the crime scene.

When Somasundar and Supriya arrived later, Shweta reportedly restrained her sister while Kenneth assaulted Somasundar with the machete.

Despite his severe injuries, Somasundar managed to escape to the cellar of the building, where residents discovered him bleeding and rushed him to a hospital.

Before succumbing to his injuries, Somasundar provided a detailed account of the events to the police. Investigators have also obtained video evidence showing him seeking assistance after the attack.

The murders are believed to have occurred around 8:30 PM on Monday, prompting local residents to notify the police.

Authorities have recovered the bodies and are conducting a thorough investigation. While the exact details and motives are still being confirmed, initial findings indicate ongoing disputes regarding Shweta's relationship and financial issues with her family.

Investigations are ongoing, and law enforcement is actively searching for Shweta and Kenneth.
