Indora (Himachal): Cricket has long served as a unifying force, and at Aarni University, it transformed into a tool to combat a pressing societal issue — drug addiction.


The celebrity cricket event, which took place on February 1, 2026, united singers and educators on the pitch, all aiming to motivate the youth of Himachal to prioritize discipline, purpose, and education over substance abuse.


While the Shining Star Team of celebrity singers drew significant attention, it was the Educator 11 team that truly impressed with their teamwork and resolve. Their victory by 86 runs was celebrated not merely as a sporting achievement but as a moral victory.


Former Indora MLA, Manohar Dhiman, attended the event, emphasizing the crucial role of grassroots leadership in driving social change. Local activist Navdeep Katoch, a prominent member of the Akhil Bhartiya Kshatriya Mahasabha, also supported the initiative, reinforcing its importance.


The award ceremony, presided over by Chancellor Dr. Vivek Singh, showcased Aarni University’s dedication to social responsibility. The winning team received a cash prize of ₹11,000, while the runners-up were awarded ₹5,100. Sanjeev Sharma from Sunrise School, Basantpur, was recognized as the Man of the Series for his exceptional performance.
