The Indian men's cricket team coach, Gautam Gambhir, along with BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla and other notable figures from the cricket world, expressed their sorrow over the loss of the iconic playback singer Asha Bhosle, who died at the age of 92 on Sunday.


Gautam Gambhir took to social media platform X to share his condolences, highlighting Asha Bhosle's 'elegance' and 'unmatched talent' that will forever be cherished. He stated, 'Saddened by the demise of legendary Asha Bhosle Ji. Her elegance and incomparable talent will always remain in our memories.'



BCCI Vice-President Rajeev Shukla also conveyed his heartfelt grief, referring to Asha Bhosle as an irreplaceable gem of Indian music. He remarked, 'The news of Asha Bhosle ji's passing is extremely heartbreaking. Her melodious voice and timeless songs will always resonate in our hearts. May God grant peace to her soul and strength to her family during this challenging time.'



Yuvraj Singh shared that Asha Bhosle's music was a significant part of his childhood, stating, 'Grew up listening to Asha ji. No matter the mood, there was always a song of hers that fit perfectly. It feels like a part of our growing up has gone silent today. Rest in peace Asha ji.'



Indian pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar honored Asha Bhosle, saying her voice accompanied every stage of life. He expressed gratitude for her contributions, stating, 'A voice that stayed with us through every phase of life. Asha Bhosle ji, you will always be remembered.'



Commentator Harsha Bhogle remarked that Asha Bhosle's passing signifies the end of a golden era in music, noting, 'First Lata Mangeshkar. Now Asha Bhosle. Different styles, both touched by greatness. It is truly the end of an era.'

Details of Final Rites and Cause of Death

Asha Bhosle passed away at Breach Candy Hospital in Mumbai due to multi-organ failure, as confirmed by Dr. Pratit Samdani. She had been admitted the previous day due to severe exhaustion and a chest infection. Her son, Anand Bhosle, shared information regarding her last rites.


The public can pay their respects at her residence, Casa Grande in Lower Parel, starting at 11 am on April 13, with the final rites scheduled to take place at Shivaji Park later that day.
