CPI's D. Raja Voices Concerns Over IndiGo's Flight Disruptions

The General Secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), D. Raja, expressed his discontent on Saturday regarding the cancellation of IndiGo flights, which left thousands of passengers stranded across the nation. He emphasized that this situation highlights the issues that arise when a single airline dominates the market. Raja urged the government to take responsibility, especially as ticket prices continue to rise, making it increasingly difficult for travelers to cope.

Government Accountability and Airline Monopolies

In a conversation with a news outlet, Raja remarked that this incident should serve as a lesson for both the government and the public. He warned that allowing monopolistic companies to flourish leads to such crises. With rising airline ticket prices, he questioned how passengers are expected to manage these challenges. On the same day, IndiGo's operations faced significant disruptions nationwide, with over 100 flights canceled, stranding travelers at airports in cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, and Guwahati.
