Court Sentences Brothers of Notorious Bandit to Life Imprisonment in 17-Year-Old Murder Case
Verdict in Long-Standing Murder Case
In a significant ruling, a court in Dhaulpur has sentenced two brothers of the infamous bandit Jagan Gurjar to life imprisonment for their involvement in a murder case dating back 17 years. The court found Lal Singh Gurjar and Pappu Gurjar guilty of the crime, which occurred on the night of August 22, 2010. The prosecution presented evidence and witness testimonies that led to their conviction.
The incident took place in the village of Vibhutipura, where the accused, armed with weapons, confronted their neighbor over a longstanding feud. They abducted a young man named Santosh from the village and subsequently shot him, causing a stir in the area.
Following the murder, Santosh's uncle, Bhura, filed a police complaint against the accused. The police initiated an investigation, gathering necessary evidence that eventually brought the case to trial. After a lengthy judicial process spanning nearly 17 years, the court concluded that both Lal Singh Gurjar and Pappu Gurjar were responsible for the murder.
The presiding judge, Rakesh Goyal, not only sentenced them to life imprisonment but also imposed a fine of five thousand rupees on each of the convicted individuals.
It is noteworthy that both convicts are brothers of Jagan Gurjar, a notorious figure in Rajasthan's criminal history. Recently, Jagan was murdered in a high-security prison in Ajmer, which had also attracted significant media attention.
