On May 29, the court had determined to expedite the proceedings in the Shraddha Walker murder case by scheduling daily hearings from July 20 to July 27, 2026. The prosecution is set to question eight witnesses, while the main testimonies of 13 witnesses have been partially recorded, and 12 witnesses had their testimonies postponed. This case has been pending since 2023, with allegations that Aftab Amin Poonawala murdered Shraddha Walker in May 2022. The matter came to light in November 2022 when her parents actively sought to contact her, leading to an FIR being filed at the Mehrauli police station. It is alleged that after the murder, Aftab disposed of Shraddha's body parts in the forest. Shraddha's father, Vikas Walker, passed away in 2025.
