The Allahabad High Court has turned down the anticipatory bail application of Bhojpuri singer Neha Singh Rathore, who faces allegations related to derogatory comments about Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Following a terrorist attack in Pahalgam, Rathore's comments have led to multiple FIRs against her across Uttar Pradesh. In her defense, Rathore claims her statements were misinterpreted and were intended to raise concerns about tourist safety. Court Ruling on Neha Singh Rathore's Bail Request

The Lucknow bench of the Allahabad High Court has rejected the anticipatory bail plea of Bhojpuri singer and YouTuber Neha Singh Rathore in connection with alleged derogatory comments made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The case stems from remarks made by Rathore in April, which led to a complaint filed at the Hazratganj police station in Lucknow earlier this year. Multiple FIRs have been lodged against Rathore across Uttar Pradesh for similar allegations.

This particular case relates to comments made by Rathore concerning the terrorist attack in Pahalgam that occurred in April.

Details of the Controversial Comments

In a post on X dated April 23, Rathore accused the government led by Modi of engaging in politics based on caste and religion. In a prior interview, she defended her statements, asserting that her words were misinterpreted. Rathore clarified that her intention was to question the security arrangements following the attack, rather than to make a musical statement. She emphasized that her comments were a direct appeal regarding the safety of tourists.

The Pahalgam attack on April 22 resulted in the deaths of 26 individuals, including a Nepali citizen. The complaint against Rathore claimed that her post could incite caste-based hatred and anti-national sentiments, and it was filed by poet Abhay Pratap Singh, also known as Abhay Singh, at the Hazratganj police station.
