Events of That Night
The incident reportedly took place on April 6, when Chaudhary arrived at the Smart View Inn hotel in Agra's Jagdishpura area in a black Scorpio. Accompanied by two women and others, he allegedly intimidated hotel staff by claiming to be an official and demanded to inspect the rooms under the pretext of checking IDs.
Allegations of Extortion
According to the hotel owner, Anil Kumar, after exerting pressure under the guise of an investigation, Chaudhary demanded a bribe of 2 lakh rupees. He threatened that failure to comply would result in actions against the hotel and negative media coverage. The hotel owner informed the police, but Chaudhary and his associates fled before they arrived. An FIR was filed on April 10.

The video that surfaced on Monday has intensified the situation. Police believe it may have been recorded by someone at the party or a hotel staff member. Following Chaudhary's arrest, the video was uploaded to social media, quickly gaining traction and sparking discussions.
Is Mahipal Really Associated with BJP?
Chaudhary has consistently claimed to be the media in-charge for the BJP, sharing photos with various party leaders on his social media. He even attended a public meeting of Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath as a media personnel. However, Rajkumar Gupta, the president of the Agra BJP, has stated that Chaudhary is not a member of their party and warned that action would be taken against anyone misusing the party's name.
Previous Serious Allegations
Investigations have revealed that Chaudhary has a history of illegal activities, including extortion related to unauthorized constructions. He is also implicated in a case in Hathras where he allegedly demanded 10 lakh rupees from a doctor. He was arrested on April 9 and is currently in jail. Agra police are preparing to bring him in on a B-warrant for further questioning regarding this case, while also looking into other extortion and blackmail allegations against him in different districts.
