Release Date and Political Context

The eagerly awaited film Sardaar Ji 3, featuring Diljit Dosanjh alongside Pakistani actress Hania Aamir, is set to premiere internationally on June 27, 2025. This announcement comes at a time of heightened political tensions between India and Pakistan, particularly following the recent Pahalgam terror attack.

FWICE's Strong Opposition

The Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) has voiced significant discontent regarding the casting of Hania Aamir in the film. In a formal letter, the federation has called upon Prime Minister Narendra Modi and other officials to take decisive action against both the actress and the film's production team.

Letter to the Prime Minister

In their correspondence to Prime Minister Modi, FWICE expressed, "We, the undersigned representatives of the Federation of Western India Cine Employees, who represent numerous dedicated workers in India's film and television sector, are writing with profound outrage over an act that not only contravenes our nation's laws but also disrespects its very essence."

Accusations Against Hania Aamir

The letter further states, "Diljit Dosanjh, Gunbir Singh Sidhu, Manmord Sidhu, and Director Amar Hundal, all of whom enjoy the privileges of Indian citizenship, have committed an unforgivable act by hiring Pakistani actress Hania Aamir for 'Sardaar Ji 3'. This choice transcends mere artistic expression; it is a deliberate insult to India's sovereignty and dignity."

Claims of Propaganda

FWICE's statement labels Hania Aamir as a "vocal propagandist against India," citing her alleged support for Pakistan's position following the Operation Sindoor airstrikes and the aforementioned terror attack. The federation claims, "Her involvement in any Indian film is an affront to every Indian citizen and those affected by cross-border terrorism."

Call for Action

The federation's letter continues, "Ms. Hania Aamir has repeatedly used her platform to spread negativity against India, glorify terrorist actions, and demean our armed forces. Her participation in any Indian project is not just insensitive; it is a blatant provocation against our nation."

Demands from FWICE

FWICE has urged that the passports of those involved be revoked immediately and that they be permanently barred from enjoying any rights associated with Indian citizenship. The letter concludes, "Their actions clearly indicate their loyalties lie elsewhere, not with India or its cinema."

Film's Release Status

FWICE has also reached out to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting and the Central Board of Film Certification, requesting a complete ban on the film's release in India and the denial of censor certification. Meanwhile, Diljit Dosanjh released the film's trailer on Instagram, which is geo-blocked in India, displaying a message that the video is unavailable in the country. However, teasers and songs from the film remain accessible to Indian audiences.

Cast and Crew

Sardaar Ji 3 also features actors such as Manav Vij, Gulshan Grover, Jasmin Bajwa, and Sapna Pabbi in key roles, with Amar Hundal serving as the director.
