Controversy Erupts Over Dhirendra Krishna Shastri's Remarks on Lord Ram
Controversial Statements Spark Outrage
New Delhi. Dhirendra Krishna Shastri, the head of Bageshwar Dham, has found himself embroiled in controversy once again due to his statements. Following his earlier comments about Lord Krishna, a recent video has surfaced where he allegedly claims that 'Lord Ram had five fathers.' This clip is reportedly from an event in Karera, Shivpuri district, Madhya Pradesh, where he was delivering a discourse. The video has gone viral, inciting significant backlash from political circles and religious organizations.
Political Leaders Respond
The national president of the Samajwadi Party and former Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh, Akhilesh Yadav, shared the video on his official social media account, expressing strong disapproval. He questioned who is behind these anti-Sanatan sentiments, referencing the previous controversial video about Lord Krishna and now the disrespectful remarks regarding Lord Ram's father. Yadav demanded the immediate cancellation of all events associated with Shastri, asserting that the public and true Sanatan followers would hold him accountable.
Shastri's Defense and Reactions
As the controversy escalates, Shastri is seen in the video stating that his comments are not based on any written text but rather his own interpretation. He argued that since Lord Ram did not perform the last rites for King Dasharath, he made this assertion. However, the context of his remarks remains unclear in the viral clip. The situation has been further inflamed by sharp reactions from former BJP MP Vinay Katiyar and other political figures.
Public and Legal Community React
In addition, social media users, including various lawyers and public figures, have voiced their opinions. Advocate Arun Dixit remarked that political silence and double standards regarding such statements can no longer be tolerated. Other users have also expressed their strong objections. Previously, Shastri had made controversial comments regarding the form of Lord Krishna and his Dham, which led to criticism from opposition leaders like Bhupesh Baghel and Digvijaya Singh. Following the backlash, Shastri issued a video apology, stating that if his incomplete video clip hurt anyone's sentiments, he sincerely apologizes.
