A BJP legislator from Karnataka is facing legal action following inflammatory remarks made during a protest against Congress leader Rahul Gandhi. The MLA claimed that Gandhi lacks the ability to think critically and issued a warning that the Gandhi family could meet a fate similar to that of the Babri Masjid, which was demolished in 1992. This statement has ignited significant political controversy, with Congress accusing the BJP and RSS of promoting a narrative that seeks to physically eliminate political adversaries.

Yashpal Suvarna, the MLA from Udupi, addressed party workers, asserting that Rahul Gandhi has a poor memory and is perpetually intoxicated, lacking the discernment to differentiate between right and wrong. Referring to the Babri Masjid incident, Suvarna stated that when their sentiments were hurt, their workers demolished the mosque, suggesting that the Congress and the Gandhi family could face a similar downfall. Congress Responds to Threatening Remarks

These comments were made during a protest aimed at Congress and the so-called 'Cockroach People’s Party' (CJP), leading to immediate backlash from Congress, which labeled the remarks as incendiary and akin to threats against the Gandhi family. In response to Suvarna's statements, Manjunath Bhandari, the executive president of the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee and an MLC, stated that the state government is taking these comments seriously and will pursue legal action against Suvarna.
