Marriage Dispute in Kanpur

In Kalyanpur, the sanctity of the marital bond is being questioned as disputes arise over trivial matters. Recently, a troubling case from Kanpur, Uttar Pradesh, has come to light where a woman has filed a complaint against her husband and in-laws.

The woman claims that her mood was ruined on her wedding night due to her husband's actions, revealing that he is impotent. The following day, when she informed her brother-in-law and sister-in-law about this, they allegedly told her to remain silent. This situation continued for several days until her brother-in-law reportedly harassed her and attempted to force himself upon her. She has accused her in-laws of trying to evict her from their home and demanding a dowry of two lakh rupees.

The woman, a resident of Rawatpur, was married in March of the previous year to a man from Bangarmau, Unnao. Upon discovering her husband's impotence on their wedding night, she was understandably shocked. The next day, she confided in her sister-in-law, who advised her to keep quiet. When she later suggested seeking medical help for her husband, she faced verbal abuse and physical threats from her husband and in-laws.

On one occasion, her brother-in-law allegedly assaulted her. When she resisted, her in-laws reportedly confiscated her jewelry. The woman claims that on March 9, her in-laws forced her out of the house. On June 30, after learning about her husband's illness, she went to visit him with her family, only to be attacked by her brother-in-law and husband, who allegedly tried to suffocate her. The local police station chief, KK Mishra, confirmed that a report has been filed and action is underway.
