Controversial Incident in Auraiya: Youth Forced to Apologize at Ambedkar Statue
Incident Overview
In Auraiya, a troubling incident unfolded when a young man was forcibly taken from his home for not attending a Buddhist event. He was made to apologize in front of a statue of Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, where he was also subjected to physical exercises as a form of punishment. This shocking event was captured on video and has since gone viral on social media.
The incident occurred in Uttar Pradesh's Auraiya district, where the young man was reportedly taken against his will after some members of the local Pal community did not participate in a Buddhist narrative event held from April 6 to 13. Following the video's circulation, local authorities, including the Assistant Superintendent of Police and Circle Officer, rushed to the village to manage the situation.
According to reports, a resident named Atan Pal stated that a group of individuals arrived at his home, assaulted him, and dragged him to the Ambedkar Park in the neighboring village of Kazipur. There, he was forced to hold his ears and perform squats while apologizing, under duress, for his absence from the event. The situation escalated quickly, prompting police intervention.
In response to Atan Pal's complaint, police have filed a report against several individuals, including Prabal Pratap, Nilesh alias Kallu, Ramkishan, Abhishek, and Bharat Singh, along with 25-30 unidentified persons. The opposing group has also filed a complaint, alleging that some individuals disrespected posters of Dr. Ambedkar and used offensive language. The Assistant Superintendent of Police confirmed that both parties have lodged complaints, leading to the arrest of four individuals. Investigations are ongoing to ascertain the facts surrounding the dispute, which reportedly began over a flag-raising incident among children.
