Construction Resumes on Faridabad's Sector 12-15 Road Amid Traffic Challenges
Resumption of Construction Work
Following a brief pause, the construction activities on the dividing road between Sector 12 and 15 are set to restart. The machinery that had previously malfunctioned has been repaired and returned to the site. However, recent rainfall has left the road wet, causing delays in the removal of the top layer. Officials have stated that work will begin again as soon as the weather permits.
Traffic Issues for Motorists
Many drivers are currently facing difficulties due to the unfinished construction. The top layer of the road from the BPTP intersection to the dividing road of Sectors 14 and 17 has been removed, exposing gravel. This situation has particularly affected two-wheeler riders, leading to skidding incidents and injuries. The movement of heavy vehicles is generating significant dust, sometimes impairing visibility.
Official Assurance on Progress
KS Pathania, the Executive Engineer of the Faridabad Metropolitan Development Authority, has assured that there will be no further delays, with work expected to commence within a day or two.
New Slip Road Alleviates Traffic Congestion
To mitigate traffic congestion, a slip road has been constructed near the nursery close to Neelam Bridge. Although this slip road was completed around 20 days ago, it has not yet been officially opened for traffic. Nevertheless, two-wheelers have started using it, providing some relief to commuters.
Importance of the Bridge
This bridge accommodates approximately 100,000 vehicles daily and is crucial for connectivity in the NIT area. It links the Municipal Corporation headquarters and Badshah Khan Civil Hospital, along with several major private hospitals nearby. Traffic jams frequently hinder ambulances, prompting the construction of an additional slip road near Ajarunda Chowk to address these issues.
