Congress Prepares for Tamil Nadu Elections

On March 19, Congress leader Karti Chidambaram announced that the party will soon unveil its manifesto for the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections, where it is contesting in alliance with the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK). He mentioned that the party is planning to create a concise version of the manifesto that could fit on a postcard. Chidambaram chaired a meeting of the party's manifesto committee, describing the document as one that would captivate the people of Tamil Nadu and serve as a blueprint for the next five years.

Chidambaram stated, 'We held our first meeting, which was open and transparent. We will prepare a manifesto, and I want to include a brief version that can be encapsulated on a postcard, appealing to the people of Tamil Nadu and highlighting key points for the Congress party over the next five years.' Earlier that day, Congress leader Lakshmi Ramachandran revealed that the process of drafting the election manifesto has commenced, with a strong emphasis on addressing public concerns.

He added, 'Today, our manifesto committee convened. The committee clearly stated that any issues included in the manifesto should resonate with the public and attract voters' attention.' Ramachandran further mentioned that the party has formed groups to visit various districts to engage with the public and gather suggestions. He said, 'We have established groups that will tour all districts and consult directly with the people. The party's district presidents will organize these meetings.'
