Congress Questions PM Modi's Silence on Alleged Donations Theft at Ayodhya Temple
Congress Raises Concerns Over Ayodhya Donations
Dehradun. KC Venugopal, the General Secretary of Congress, has raised concerns regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's silence on the alleged theft of donations at the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. He has called for an investigation into the matter under the supervision of the Supreme Court. Venugopal made these remarks during a press conference held in Dehradun on the final day of his two-day visit to Uttarakhand.
The Congress leader accused the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), and Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) of collecting funds in the name of the Ram Temple and claimed that the trust authority has misappropriated the gold and money. He questioned who is responsible for this alleged theft of donations. Venugopal emphasized that since the Ram Temple Trust was established under the oversight of Prime Minister Modi, he should break his silence on this issue.
Venugopal announced that the Congress party would raise this alleged theft issue prominently in Parliament. Present at the press conference were Congress General Secretary and Uttarakhand in-charge Kumari Selja, along with state president Ganesh Godiyal.
While discussing the upcoming assembly elections in Uttarakhand, Venugopal mentioned that he has conducted a thorough review of the party's electoral preparations during his visit. He held meetings with senior leaders, the political affairs committee, district Congress committee presidents, various departments, frontal organizations, and current and former legislators.
He expressed confidence that the party organization and all leaders are prepared to contest the elections with unity and strength. After discussions with the leaders, Venugopal claimed that there is significant public discontent with the BJP government over the past decade, and people are against the current administration. Congress aims to capitalize on this sentiment to secure victory.
Venugopal identified unemployment and the resulting migration as the primary issues facing the state, accusing the BJP government of failing to address these concerns over the last ten years. He stated that Congress will fight for the rights of the youth. Additionally, a 'Manifesto Committee' will be established to prepare the election manifesto, which will engage with youth, students, farmers, and women to understand their issues and create a people-centric manifesto.
