Congress President Faces Backlash for Controversial Remarks on PM Modi

In a heated political climate, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge's recent comments labeling Prime Minister Modi as a 'terrorist' have drawn sharp criticism from BJP leaders. The backlash highlights the escalating tensions as the Tamil Nadu elections approach. BJP's K. Annamalai and Sambit Patra have condemned Kharge's remarks, calling for an apology and emphasizing the Congress party's history of disrespecting the Prime Minister. This incident raises questions about the political strategies employed by both parties as they navigate the upcoming electoral challenges.

Controversial Comments Ignite Political Tensions

On the final day of campaigning in Tamil Nadu, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge found himself in hot water after labeling Prime Minister Modi as a 'terrorist.' He asserted that those who do not believe in equality and align with such views are undermining democracy. In response, the BJP has launched a counterattack against Congress. BJP leader K. Annamalai criticized Kharge's remarks, stating that it is unfortunate for a senior leader of the Congress party, with a long history, to use such derogatory language, thereby disrespecting the dignity of the Prime Minister's office.

Annamalai further expressed that he expects Kharge to publicly apologize and seek forgiveness from the public. He noted that after visiting Tamil Nadu, Kharge has witnessed the ground realities and understands that the India alliance is likely to face a significant defeat. This desperation, he claims, has led to Kharge's inappropriate language.

BJP MP Sambit Patra condemned Kharge's comments as not only disgraceful but also indicative of the Congress party's mindset. He emphasized that this is not merely a slip of the tongue. If Kharge attempts to clarify his statement, it should be recognized as a calculated move by the Congress party. He pointed out that Rahul Gandhi frequently uses derogatory terms against the Prime Minister, and today, at Rahul's behest, Kharge referred to Modi as a terrorist.

Patra also remarked that this is the same Congress party that referred to Osama bin Laden as 'Osama Ji' and appears to stand with major terrorists while accusing Prime Minister Narendra Modi of terrorism. He reminded the Congress party that whenever they have insulted the Prime Minister, the people of India have punished them, and this time will be no different.
