Congress MP Manickam Tagore Critiques AIADMK-BJP Alliance During Tamil Nadu Elections
Tagore Casts Vote in Tirupparankundram
On Thursday, Congress MP Manickam Tagore participated in the Tamil Nadu assembly elections by casting his vote at a polling station in the Tirupparankundram constituency. Speaking to a news outlet, he criticized the AIADMK-BJP alliance, accusing it of politicizing the region and expressed his hope for their defeat. Tagore emphasized the necessity of having an effective legislator for the development of Tirupparankundram.
Concerns Over Political Developments
Tagore remarked, "I voted in Tirupparankundram, where the RSS and BJP are currently attempting to engage in politics. I hope that this time the BJP-AIADMK candidate faces defeat here." He pointed out that the development of Tirupparankundram has stagnated over the past five years, highlighting the need for a representative who can coordinate with local bodies and amplify the constituency's voice.
Importance of Voter Participation
He underscored the significance of the elections, praising the increasing voter turnout. "Today's election is crucial and will be decisive. People are actively participating, with a recorded 36% turnout at my booth, which is a commendable figure. More individuals are coming to the polling stations," he stated. Earlier, AIADMK candidate P. Saravanan also cast his vote in the Madurai North constituency, expressing confidence in his party's strong performance in the ongoing elections.
AIADMK's Optimism for Victory
After voting, Saravanan expressed his belief that the AIADMK would perform strongly under its leadership in Madurai district and across the state. Speaking to a news outlet, he stated, "Our party, led by our General Secretary, will achieve significant victories in all ten assembly seats in Madurai. We aim to win all ten seats and secure over 210 seats throughout Tamil Nadu."
