Previously, Chennithala stated that the final decision on these matters would rest with the party. "We have achieved a fantastic victory in Kerala... now the Congress high command will make decisions on the remaining issues. There are many leaders in the Congress, but whatever decision the high command makes will be accepted by all," he remarked. The Congress has initiated the process of forming a government in Kerala, where the United Democratic Front (UDF), led by the Congress, secured a significant win, claiming 102 out of 140 seats in the assembly.
According to sources, the party has appointed leaders Ajay Maken and Mukul Wasnik as observers to gather opinions from newly elected legislators for the Chief Minister selection. Earlier, K.C. Venugopal expressed gratitude to the people of Kerala, stating that they have shown their trust in the Congress party and the UDF alliance. He emphasized their confidence in the leadership of Rahul Gandhi and Mallikarjun Kharge. The UDF's victory is seen as a significant political shift in the state, reflecting the growing support for Congress and its allies, further strengthening the party's influence under the guidance of Gandhi and Kharge.
