Congress Leader Criticizes Shashi Tharoor's Stance on Terrorism

In a recent statement, Congress leader Udit Raj has taken aim at Shashi Tharoor, accusing him of acting as a spokesperson for the BJP and supporting Prime Minister Modi. Raj's critique comes in the wake of Tharoor leading a parliamentary delegation to address cross-border terrorism. The delegation included members from various political parties and aimed to present a united front against terrorism. Tharoor has also been vocal in condemning Pakistan's terrorist activities, emphasizing a shift in how India responds to such threats. This ongoing political discourse raises questions about the roles and responsibilities of leaders in addressing national security issues.

Udit Raj's Strong Critique of Shashi Tharoor

Congress leader Udit Raj has sharply criticized party MP Shashi Tharoor, labeling him as a 'super spokesperson' for the BJP. He accused Tharoor of consistently speaking in favor of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the central government. Following Operation Sindoor, the Indian government dispatched several multi-party parliamentary delegations to global capitals to garner support for its anti-terrorism stance, one of which was led by Tharoor to explain India's precise and balanced response to cross-border terrorism.

Tharoor's delegation included MPs from various political parties such as the BJP, JMM, TDP, and Shiv Sena. They visited countries like the USA, Guyana, and Panama, engaging with lawmakers, think tanks, media, and expatriates to present a united Indian front against the threats of terrorism and national security. Criticizing the senior party leader, Udit Raj stated that while BJP leaders refrain from certain comments, Tharoor is vocal in supporting Modi and the government. He also questioned Tharoor's understanding of the contributions made by previous administrations and criticized the Modi-led government for taking credit for the Indian armed forces.

Tharoor has been vocal in condemning Pakistan for its ongoing terrorist activities targeting India, asserting that a significant shift in recent years indicates that terrorists now recognize they will face consequences. Speaking in Panama, Tharoor highlighted India's evolving response, stating, 'The change in recent years is that terrorists have realized they will have to pay a price for their actions, and there should be no doubt about that.'
