Congress Leader Condemns Insults Against PM Modi During Opposition Rally

In a recent event in Darbhanga, Bihar, Congress leader Sachin Pilot condemned derogatory remarks aimed at Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother. He clarified that the Congress party is not associated with the incident, as their voter rights initiative had already begun. Pilot emphasized the importance of respectful politics, aligning with the values of Mahatma Gandhi. Congress Leader's Strong Denunciation

On Friday, Congress leader Sachin Pilot expressed strong condemnation of the derogatory remarks made against Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his late mother during the opposition's 'Voter Rights Journey' event in Darbhanga, Bihar. Pilot emphasized that this incident is not associated with the Congress party, as their voter rights initiative had already commenced. Speaking to the media, he stated, "I condemn this. The Congress party has no connection to this; our journey has already progressed."

He further stated that there is no place for such language in civilized and respectful politics. He reminded that their party is rooted in the principles of Mahatma Gandhi and has never supported such statements, nor will it in the future. Congress leader Digvijay Singh added that an investigation should be conducted to identify who made the statement, asserting that no member of Congress would endorse derogatory remarks against the Prime Minister or his family. This is not part of Congress's culture... action should be taken.

However, this incident has sparked a political controversy, with BJP and NDA leaders targeting Congress and the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD). Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta remarked that such comments reflect poor upbringing and disrespect towards terms like 'Mother Earth' and 'Bharat Mata.' Speaking to reporters, Gupta described the behavior of opposition leaders as extremely shameful. She stated that any insult to a mother on the land of Mother Sita is intolerable. The public rejects such low-mindedness and politics that belittles the Prime Minister's mother.
