Congress Leader Accuses PM Modi of Terrorism Amid Tamil Nadu Elections

In a bold statement during the Tamil Nadu election campaign, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge accused Prime Minister Narendra Modi of being a terrorist. He criticized the AIADMK for aligning with the BJP, questioning their commitment to democracy and equality. Kharge emphasized the Congress-DMK alliance's focus on welfare and development while clarifying his remarks about Modi's intimidating tactics. This controversy unfolds as the state prepares for elections on April 23, raising significant political tensions.

Allegations Against Prime Minister Modi

On Tuesday, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge made a startling accusation against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, labeling him a terrorist. This statement came as he criticized the AIADMK for forming an alliance with the BJP-led NDA ahead of the upcoming Tamil Nadu assembly elections. While campaigning in Chennai for the DMK-led coalition, Kharge questioned how the AIADMK could partner with someone he accused of being a terrorist, asserting that their party does not believe in equality and justice.

Kharge's Strong Critique of AIADMK-BJP Alliance

Kharge expressed disbelief at the AIADMK's collaboration with Modi, stating, "He is a terrorist, and his party does not uphold the values of equality." He emphasized that this alliance undermines democracy, particularly the principles championed by leaders like Annadurai, Kamaraj, Periyar, and Babasaheb Ambedkar. His remarks were made on the final day of campaigning for the elections, which are scheduled for April 23.

Commitment to Welfare and Development

Despite his harsh criticism, Kharge assured that the Congress-DMK alliance would continue to focus on welfare, inclusive development, quality education, and accessible healthcare in Tamil Nadu. When asked to clarify his comments about Modi being a terrorist, Kharge explained that he meant Modi intimidates opponents, alleging that central agencies are working in collusion with the BJP. He stated, "I want to clarify that Modi always threatens us. The Income Tax Department, ED, and other agencies are under his control. I never said he is a terrorist; he is instilling fear."

Clarification on His Statements

Further elaborating on his comments, Kharge reiterated that Modi is instilling fear among the public and political parties. He clarified, "I never called him a terrorist... what I mean is that Modi always issues threats. Agencies like the ED, Income Tax, and CBI are under his influence, and he wants to control the delimitation process as well."
