Congress Leader Accuses Owaisi of Being BJP's B-Team

Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar has accused Asaduddin Owaisi of AIMIM of functioning as a B-team for the BJP, claiming that Owaisi's candidate announcements are strategically aligned with BJP interests. This comes amid criticism from Kerala's Chief Minister, who also labeled Congress as a B-team for the BJP. Owaisi is preparing for the West Bengal Assembly elections in alliance with Humayun Kabir's Janata Unnayan Party, aiming to strengthen Muslim political leadership in the state. The alliance plans to contest 182 seats, with Owaisi actively participating in the nomination process.

Allegations Against AIMIM Chief

On Thursday, Congress leader Vijay Wadettiwar claimed that Asaduddin Owaisi, the head of AIMIM, is functioning as a B-team for the BJP. He asserted that Owaisi announces candidates at the behest of the BJP to ensure the party's success in elections. Speaking to the media, he emphasized that the entire nation is aware of Owaisi's role as the BJP's B-team, stating that his candidate announcements are strategically timed to benefit the BJP.

Criticism from Kerala's Chief Minister

In a similar vein, Kerala's Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan criticized Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and his party earlier in the day, labeling them as the BJP's 'B-team.' He remarked that instead of learning from their mistakes, the party is merely imitating the ruling party's stance.

AIMIM's Alliance for West Bengal Elections

Meanwhile, Owaisi's party is gearing up for the West Bengal Assembly elections in alliance with Humayun Kabir's Janata Unnayan Party (JUP). During a press conference on Wednesday, Owaisi highlighted that the primary goal of this alliance is to promote independent political leadership for the Muslim minority in the state. He stated, "Our aim is to ensure that a leadership emerges and strengthens from the Muslim minority in this election in West Bengal. We have already determined the number of seats we will contest." He also mentioned that the alliance intends to continue beyond the 2026 elections.

Election Strategy and Candidate Distribution

According to the alliance's strategy, Humayun Kabir's party will contest elections on 182 seats, with approximately eight seats allocated to AIMIM. Owaisi plans to visit Baharampur on April 1 to submit Kabir's nomination and will hold a large rally while distributing party forms to candidates.
