Congress Leaders Stopped from Joining Protest Vehicle

A potentially embarrassing moment unfolded for the Congress party when its leaders, Kanhaiya Kumar and Pappu Yadav, were prevented from boarding an open vehicle that was carrying Rahul Gandhi, RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav, and several other senior figures. This incident occurred during the BJP's 'Bihar Bandh' protest against the special intensive revision of the voter list on Wednesday. As Kumar and Yadav attempted to climb aboard, they were halted by personnel tasked with ensuring the safety of Gandhi and the other leaders. Videos capturing this incident have since gone viral.

In response, the BJP has taken the opportunity to mock the situation. National spokesperson Shehzad Poonawala remarked that the so-called 'Pappu' has sunk the Congress, while Tejashwi Yadav and Congress have caused another 'Pappu' to cry. Pappu Yadav, a respected leader and MP from Bihar, later expressed his feelings in an interview, stating that he would endure this humiliation. He noted that two 'nawabs' of Bihar had disrespected him, and the fact that Kanhaiya Kumar was not allowed to board the truck indicated that only 'family-oriented nawabs' were permitted.

Additionally, senior BJP leader Shah Nawaz Hussain commented on social media that the internal rift within the Mahagathbandhan was evident during the blockade. He pointed out that there was no public turnout or enthusiasm, and the way leaders treated Pappu Yadav highlighted a lack of respect for their allies. He questioned how those who do not value their partners could possibly respect the people of Bihar.

On the other hand, Pappu Yadav defended himself, stating that he fell and sustained an injury. He mentioned that leaders from all parties were present, and he did not perceive it as an insult. He emphasized that how this situation is interpreted is up to others, asserting that nothing is more important than the public, and he is willing to accept humiliation repeatedly for their sake.
