Call for Investigation into Security Lapse

The Congress party has called for a judicial investigation regarding the incident on July 20, when a truck allegedly filled with stones was parked near Jantar Mantar during a student march. They claim this incident highlights a significant security failure and exposes the government's intentions. Uday Bhanu Chib, the president of the Indian Youth Congress, held a press conference where he asserted that on July 20, a truck loaded with stones was seen parked near Jantar Mantar and later moved to the front of the Indian Youth Congress office, where it remained until July 25. He presented several videos and questioned how the truck arrived at that location on the day of the march and who ordered it to be parked there.

Chib stated, “We are questioning the motive behind parking a stone-filled dumper in front of the Indian Youth Congress office. This is also a major security lapse.” He further inquired whether the government intended for these stones to be used during the protest, potentially leading to large-scale repercussions. The Youth Congress president noted that a lawyer representing the government in the High Court had claimed the dumper was connected to the protesters, while the Delhi Police later stated on July 28 via the social media platform 'X' that the dumper had been seized following a road accident.

“These two statements are contradictory,” he remarked. Chib accused the government of having its entire scheme exposed. He demanded an independent and judicial investigation into the matter, the preservation of CCTV footage related to the dumper's movement, and accountability for those responsible for the entire incident. Additionally, he alleged that cases are being filed against students involved in the protest, and they are facing pressure.
