Congress Responds to PM Modi's Statement

New Delhi, August 1 - The Congress party expressed strong disapproval on Saturday regarding Prime Minister Narendra Modi's recent comments about 'forgiving' the youth of the nation, labeling it an insult to young people. Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh stated that the Prime Minister's 'Instagram gatherings' can no longer mislead anyone. He accused Modi of playing the 'victim card' while the country awaits an apology for the brutal treatment of protesting students.

Ramesh took to social media platform 'X' to voice his concerns, stating, 'Late last night, the Prime Minister showcased his self-absorption by claiming he has forgiven our youth. This is an affront to the nation and to our young people who have suffered under his administration and are rightfully demanding an apology.'

He further asserted, 'The entire nation is waiting for the Prime Minister to apologize for the incidents of question paper leaks and the violence against protesting students. The public also expects him to address the issues surrounding the 'donation theft' linked to the Ram Temple Trust and the demonetization decision made on November 8, 2016.'

Ramesh accused the Prime Minister of consistently using harsh language against his predecessors and political opponents, alleging that false accusations are frequently made. He also claimed that those who engage in indecent behavior inside and outside Parliament are being protected.

The Congress leader remarked, 'The Prime Minister's Instagram gatherings can no longer deceive anyone.' On Friday, PM Modi expressed his disappointment over the derogatory remarks directed not only at him but also at his late mother during protests at Jantar Mantar. He mentioned that these 'misguided children' need to be forgiven. In a late-night video message on 'Instagram', he acknowledged the anger prevalent in society but emphasized that it is time to show compassion to these 'misguided children' and guide them on the right path.
