Congress Criticizes PM Modi Over Alleged Ram Temple Donation Misappropriation

The Congress party has sharply criticized Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding alleged misappropriation of donations for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Jairam Ramesh questioned the Prime Minister's silence on the issue, emphasizing that the nation will not forgive the BJP and RSS for betraying public faith. With demands for a Supreme Court-monitored investigation and forensic audit, Congress is determined to hold accountable those involved. The BJP, on the other hand, has vowed to take strict action against any wrongdoers while accusing opposition parties of politicizing the issue. This ongoing controversy raises significant questions about transparency and accountability in the management of temple donations.

Congress Targets PM Modi on Ram Temple Donation Controversy

The Congress party has launched an attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding alleged misappropriation of donations for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya. Jairam Ramesh, Congress General Secretary in charge of communications, questioned the Prime Minister's silence on the issue, asserting that the nation will never forgive the BJP and the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) for 'betraying faith'.

In a response shared on the social media platform 'X', Ramesh pointed out that it has been a month since the revelation of this alleged donation theft, yet the Prime Minister remains completely silent. He accused those politicizing the Ram Temple issue of being exposed daily as new facts emerge. Congress has reiterated its demand for an impartial investigation under the Supreme Court's supervision, a forensic audit, and strict action against the guilty.

Ramesh also raised concerns about the actions of the Special Investigation Team (SIT), stating that they have acknowledged that millions in donations are disappearing daily. He alleged that this issue is not limited to a few minor employees and accused the government of attempting to shield the real culprits. He claimed that Champat Rai and other temple trustees hold deep secrets, which is why the government is avoiding action against them.

Earlier on Saturday, Congress held press conferences at 26 locations across the country to address this issue, stating that they will seek answers in the upcoming parliamentary session. Congress leaders argue that the SIT report only represents a small part of a much larger problem, with significant figures still roaming freely, allegedly under the Prime Minister's protection.

In response to these opposition attacks, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has clarified its stance on the matter. The BJP stated that anyone found guilty in the donation theft case will not be spared. Additionally, the party accused opposition parties of politicizing the issue, claiming that those who never supported the construction of the Ram Temple are now using it to divide Hindus.
