Congress Launches Strong Critique Against Prime Minister Modi

New Delhi: The Congress party has launched a fierce attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding alleged corruption cases. The main opposition party asserts that Modi's well-known slogan 'Na Khaunga, Na Khane Dunga' has proven to be completely hollow, suggesting that in reality, it has always been a situation of 'Khaunga, Khane Dunga, and Khilaoonga' for him.

Congress General Secretary Jairam Ramesh shared a post on the social media platform X, stating that after taking charge of the country in May 2014, Prime Minister Modi introduced this slogan against corruption. However, subsequent events have revealed the true reality behind this claim. Ramesh also referenced former Prime Minister Manmohan Singh's statement, which labeled demonetization as 'organized looting and legally sanctioned theft.'

Ramesh leveled serious accusations against the central government, alleging attempts to cover up a purported ₹20,000 crore scam by merging Gujarat State Petroleum Corporation (GSPC) with ONGC. He described the electoral bond scheme as a 'Chanda Do, Dhandha Lo' scam, claiming it has significantly fostered corruption in the country. He also criticized the government by citing issues related to the Adani Group, the Rafale deal, the PM CARES Fund, and reports from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG).

The Congress leader asserted that numerous incidents in recent weeks have raised significant doubts about the government's claims of fighting corruption. He pointed out the misuse of donations for the Ram Temple in Ayodhya and noted that despite the Supreme Court ordering a CBI investigation against the Chief Minister of Arunachal Pradesh, he remains in office. Additionally, no action has been taken against the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh despite allegations of benefiting relatives.

Ramesh further alleged that the government is attempting to break opposition parties through financial inducements. He mentioned that a state minister remains in office even after receiving subsidies under his own ministry's scheme. He also questioned the sudden removal of four close associates from the Ministry of Environment. Ramesh accused the government of trying to benefit a central minister's family through decisions related to E-20 petrol, while members of the Delhi Chief Minister's family are actively involved in governance.

Targeting Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan, the Congress leader claimed that during his tenure, the examination system has become entirely corrupt and compromised, severely impacting the future and hopes of millions of youth. Highlighting all these issues, Jairam Ramesh demanded a fair investigation into all matters and accountability from the government. He asserted that Prime Minister Modi has provided the country with a system of 'minimum governance, maximum cover-up.'
