Transportation Issues for LNIPE Gwalior Team

The women's basketball team from the Lakshmibai National Institute of Physical Education (LNIPE) in Gwalior has expressed dissatisfaction regarding transportation arrangements for the Khelo India University Games 2025. They reported that inadequate communication led them to organize their own travel before an important match.

Team Highlights Transport Failures

Deepshika, the team's physiotherapist, explained that the designated transport failed to arrive on time. "Our assigned vehicle was supposed to be at the hotel by 10 AM, but it left 10 minutes early without any notification to us. We only learned of this when we contacted the driver," she stated. "As a result, we had to hire autos since our match was imminent. We even video-called the Local Organizing Committee (LOC) to verify our situation in the autos," she added.

Coach Voices Concerns

The team's coach, Dilip, shared similar sentiments, emphasizing that such oversights can disrupt the players' focus. "These issues are problematic... Mistakes like this shouldn't occur, especially with our match scheduled for 11:30 AM. It can mentally unsettle the team," he remarked.

Official Response from Organizers

In response to the complaints, Rajasthan Minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore assured that the event is being managed to international standards. He stated, "This program is being conducted at an international level in Rajasthan. I have already mentioned that transportation is available for every team, but it operates on a set schedule. If any players need to leave early, we have taxis arranged for them. There is nothing wrong with using a taxi for travel," he clarified.
