KTR Expresses Alarm Over Deteriorating Law and Order in Telangana

K.T. Rama Rao (KTR), the executive president of the Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS), has reached out to Union Home Minister Amit Shah, expressing serious concerns regarding the declining law and order situation in Telangana. He specifically highlighted issues related to the alleged irregular allocation of government contracts to the controversial company KLSR Infratech Private Limited, which is linked to Chief Minister Revanth Reddy. In a statement released on Thursday, KTR accused the state government of tampering with evidence during investigations into KLSR Infratech, allegedly under the Chief Minister's orders. He described it as extremely unfortunate that government officials informed the High Court that crucial evidence in the case had gone missing.

Allegations of Evidence Tampering and Declining Public Trust

KTR pointed out that this incident reflects a severe decline in law and order within the state and the pressure being exerted on investigative agencies. He accused the Chief Minister of misusing his authority to pressure officials into destroying evidence to protect his company. Furthermore, KTR noted that public trust in the police and investigative bodies has significantly eroded due to the deteriorating law and order situation. Despite ongoing bankruptcy proceedings against KLSR Infratech, the Chief Minister has allegedly awarded substantial government contracts to the company.

Government Contracts Amid Bankruptcy Proceedings

Reports indicate that KLSR Infratech has been awarded contracts exceeding ₹2,500 crores, despite its bankruptcy proceedings. These contracts encompass various projects, including irrigation initiatives, drinking water supply schemes, Young India Integrated School projects, and major road construction works. According to KTR, such decisions raise serious questions about compliance with government procurement standards, financial eligibility, and transparency in the bidding process.
