Serious Allegations from Sonam Wangchuk's Wife
Geetanjali D. Angmo, the wife of Sonam Wangchuk, who is currently hospitalized at Safdarjung Hospital, has written a letter to the hospital management raising serious concerns. She claims that the hospital administration is withholding copies of Wangchuk's medical examination reports from the family, leading to doubts about his treatment. Furthermore, she stated that their regular doctors have not been allowed to monitor his condition. In her letter, she shared medical data indicating that Wangchuk's potassium level has dropped to 2.9 from a previous 4.3, causing significant alarm for the family regarding his health. Due to these issues, she has urged the hospital to expedite the discharge process so that Wangchuk can receive better and more transparent treatment at another medical facility.
Hospitalization Denied Despite Medical Advice
During a medical evaluation, doctors advised Sonam Wangchuk to be admitted to the hospital due to his deteriorating health. However, he refused hospitalization. Considering his declining condition and the recommendation from a doctor at RML Hospital, Delhi police transported Wangchuk via ambulance from Jantar Mantar to Safdarjung Hospital for admission. Meanwhile, Geetanjali J. Angmo posted on social media stating that she is at Safdarjung Hospital where Sonam Wangchuk has been admitted. She emphasized that no medication should be administered orally or intravenously without her, the family’s, and the doctors' consent, who have been monitoring his health for the past 20 days.
Protests Continue Despite Hospital Transfer
Following Sonam Wangchuk's transfer to Safdarjung Hospital from the protest site at Jantar Mantar, Abhijit Dipke, founder of the 'Cockroach People's Party', expressed that if authorities believe that taking Wangchuk away would end the movement, they are mistaken. He stated that they will remain steadfast and march to Parliament on July 20. He further mentioned that while they had been demanding the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan, this disgraceful act has now escalated their demands to include the resignation of Narendra Modi.
