Manish Sareen, a Congress representative from the Dalhousie Assembly in Himachal Pradesh, has expressed alarm regarding the potential closure of the Central Tibetan School in Dalhousie. He asserts that the institution boasts infrastructure that rivals that of contemporary higher education facilities.
Sareen emphasized that the school is equipped with all necessary amenities to foster a quality educational experience, yet its future remains precarious. Consequently, he has reached out to Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu with a proposal to repurpose the campus for higher education.
In his correspondence, Sareen proposed that the Central Tibetan School's facilities be transformed into a regional college affiliated with Himachal Pradesh University or, in collaboration with the central government, established as a constituent college of a central university.
He noted that this initiative would significantly enhance the educational infrastructure in the region.
Copies of his letter have also been forwarded to Rohit Thakur, the Education Minister of Himachal Pradesh, and Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan for their review.
Sareen conveyed that the local community is optimistic that the government will act promptly to preserve this valuable institution and convert it into a beneficial resource for students in the area.
