Mobile Phone Ban Implemented at Kedarnath Temple

To maintain the sanctity of the Kedarnath Temple, a strict prohibition on the use of mobile phones within the temple premises has been enforced. Vinita Posti, a member of the temple committee, confirmed this decision. According to Posti, the measure aims to ensure the convenience of devotees and uphold religious decorum. She emphasized that bringing mobile phones inside the temple, taking photographs, recording videos, or creating reels is strictly forbidden. Furthermore, she warned that legal action would be taken against those who violate these regulations.

Guidelines for Devotees and Traffic Management Plans

The temple committee has urged all visitors to adhere to the guidelines to ensure a peaceful and spiritually enriching experience. Additionally, the Rudraprayag police administration has developed a comprehensive traffic management plan for the upcoming Kedarnath pilgrimage, aimed at ensuring safe and smooth movement for the devotees. This plan focuses on regulating traffic flow along the pilgrimage route and preventing overcrowding.

Officials have indicated that, anticipating a large influx of pilgrims during the pilgrimage season, traffic arrangements are being strengthened from national highways to connecting roads. Adequate police presence will be deployed at key locations to manage vehicle movement, reduce congestion, and maintain smooth traffic throughout the route. The plans include both permanent and temporary parking facilities along the pilgrimage route to alleviate vehicle pressure and avoid traffic jams. These measures are designed to ensure the convenience and safety of the pilgrims visiting the holy site.

Coordinated Traffic Plans for Smooth Pilgrimage Experience

Niharika Tomar, the Superintendent of Police in Rudraprayag, stated that a carefully coordinated traffic plan has been developed in collaboration with neighboring districts to ensure smooth transit during peak times. She mentioned, 'A detailed traffic plan has been prepared for the travel occurring in the district, with coordination established with surrounding districts. The traffic management will be divided into 2 super zones and 11 sectors. Additionally, 13 mobile police teams will be formed. Alternative routes will also be arranged in case of increased traffic pressure.' Officials noted that dividing the district into super zones and sectors will enhance monitoring and allow for quicker resolution of traffic-related challenges during the pilgrimage.
