In a commendable display of community engagement, the Praja Committee alongside the Mahila Mandal in Sach Gram Panchayat, located in the tribal area of Pangi, Himachal Pradesh, spearheaded an extensive cleanliness campaign today.

With remarkable enthusiasm, approximately 200 local residents participated in a collective effort known as shramdaan, forming teams to clean up residential zones, pathways, public areas, and natural water bodies.

At the conclusion of this day-long initiative, around 25 tippers of waste were gathered and disposed of responsibly. Alarmingly, the collected waste included a considerable number of cold drink bottles, beer and liquor glass bottles, as well as plastic and other non-biodegradable items. These were cleared from the village to protect the environment.

The leaders of the Praja Committee and Mahila Mandal emphasized that the main goal of the campaign was to create a pollution-free village and to educate both tourists and residents on the significance of maintaining cleanliness. They voiced their concerns regarding the irresponsible disposal of bottles and plastics in public areas, labeling it as detrimental to the environment.

The villagers committed to organizing similar initiatives in the future to maintain the natural beauty of Sach village and foster a culture of cleanliness and environmental responsibility.
