CLAT 2026 Registration Now Open: Apply for UG and PG Programs

The Consortium of National Law Universities has initiated the registration process for CLAT 2026, allowing candidates to apply for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate programs. The registration opened on August 1, 2025, and will remain available until October 31, 2025. The exam is scheduled for December 7, 2025, covering various subjects for both UG and PG candidates. Successful applicants will have the opportunity to enroll in 22 prestigious National Law Universities across India. Commencement of CLAT 2026 Admission Process

The Consortium of National Law Universities (NLUs) has officially launched the admission process for the Common Law Admission Test (CLAT) 2026, which includes both Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) programs. Registration began today, August 1, 2025, and candidates can sign up through the consortium's official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.


Overview of CLAT 2026

The CLAT 2026 exam is designed to facilitate admissions into integrated five-year Bachelor of Laws (LL.B.) and Master of Laws (LL.M.) programs, among others.


Steps to Register for CLAT 2026

Step 1: Visit the official website, consortiumofnlus.ac.in.
Step 2: Click on 'CLAT 2026 Registration' on the homepage.
Step 3: Fill in your email, phone number, personal details, academic qualifications, and category information.
Step 4: Upload your photograph, scanned signature, and any required documents.
Step 5: Pay the application fee and submit your form.
Step 6: Download the confirmation page for your records.
The registration period is open from today until October 31, 2025.


Exam Schedule and Subjects

The CLAT 2026 for both UG and PG programs is set for December 7, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM. The UG exam will consist of 120 multiple-choice questions (MCQs) covering five areas: English Language, Current Affairs, General Knowledge, Legal Reasoning, Logical Reasoning, and Quantitative Techniques.


Postgraduate Exam Details

The PG CLAT will include additional subjects beyond those in the UG exam, such as Constitutional Law, Jurisprudence, Family Law, Criminal Law, Property Law, Administrative Law, Law of Contract, Torts, Company Law, Public International Law, Environmental Law, Labour and Industrial Law, and Tax Law.
