Protests Turn Violent Near Parliament

During an attempt to disperse protesters near Parliament Marg, several Delhi police officers sustained injuries. Members of the Cockroach People's Party (CJP) were reportedly trying to march towards Parliament in protest against the alleged NEET exam paper leak. A sub-inspector from the Delhi police stated, "We were standing by the barricades when the protesters began throwing stones at us." The police dismissed claims made by the CJP that their founder, Abhijit Dipke, was detained during the 'March to Parliament' protest. Authorities labeled these allegations as "completely false," asserting that he was present on stage.

In a post on X, the official account of the Delhi police clarified that misleading information was circulating on social media, claiming that Abhijit Dipke had been taken into custody. It was officially stated that these claims are entirely untrue and that he was indeed on stage.

CJP Denies Arrest Claims

CJP's chief spokesperson, Saurabh Das, also confirmed that Abhijit Dipke was neither detained nor arrested, contradicting earlier accusations that he had been taken by the police during the protest. Earlier, Mallikarjun Kharge, the leader of the opposition in the Rajya Sabha, sharply criticized the central government, condemning the alleged police baton charge on students as a direct assault on democratic values.

Opposition Voices Strong Discontent

Expressing strong discontent over the government's actions, Kharge stated that the baton charge on students was an attack on democracy, asserting that this government does not deserve to remain in power. He further mentioned that they had raised concerns regarding the alleged embezzlement of donations for the Ayodhya Ram Temple, insisting that Prime Minister Modi should take responsibility as he established the trust. Speaking to reporters, the Congress leader demanded accountability from Modi regarding the financial irregularities associated with the Shri Ram Janmabhoomi Teerth Kshetra Trust.
