New Delhi: The Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) has pledged that no protester will face legal repercussions alone, asserting that government officials have reiterated their commitment to retracting cases against demonstrators, releasing those in custody, and issuing notifications from the Centre and BJP/NDA-led states to protect protest participants.

This announcement followed a late-night meeting with government representatives, during which assurances were reportedly made that additional states would issue formal notifications to extend protection to protesters.

The statement emerged shortly after the CJP expressed intentions to initiate new protests, citing a 'breach of agreement' concerning police actions against demonstrators. They also mentioned that officials shared notifications from the Bihar and Assam governments, which they claimed offered relief to protesters.

CJP Chief Spokesperson Saurav Das provided a late-night update on X, revealing that the meeting with government representatives lasted nearly three hours and focused on ensuring legal safeguards for those involved in the protests.

"Just hours after our press conference, government representatives met with us. The discussion lasted 2-3 hours, during which they presented copies of the Bihar and Assam notifications that guarantee the withdrawal of FIRs, no future actions, and the release of all detainees and arrestees," Das stated.

He further noted that additional assurances were given, stating, "They reiterated their promise to issue guarantee notifications from the union government and other BJP/NDA states by tomorrow. We hope the agreed language will be used. No protester will be left alone. We are united in this!"

Das later mentioned that fresh assurances were also received regarding Rajasthan, where it was claimed that no legal actions would be taken against protest participants.

"Following the notifications from Bihar and Assam, we have been assured that no authority will take action against protesters in Rajasthan. No FIRs have been filed, and none will be," he confirmed.

In a video message shared post-meeting, Das expressed concerns that the government's commitments might not be fulfilled, prompting them to request written assurances.

"We conveyed our worries that the government's promises might not be honored. In response, they provided the Bihar Home Department's press release confirming that all FIRs against protesters would be withdrawn and that no future actions would be taken against them," he explained.

Das indicated that discussions also revolved around encouraging other state governments to issue similar notifications to ensure that protesters across various states receive equivalent legal protection.

"We collaborated to identify which other state governments could issue similar notifications to ensure no harm comes to protesters," he said.

He further claimed that the government assured the party that additional notifications addressing their concerns would be forthcoming.

"The government has guaranteed that notifications addressing our concerns in various states will be issued by tomorrow, ensuring the safety of protesters. No actions will be taken against them in the future," he added.

Reaffirming the party's dedication to those who participated in the demonstrations, Das emphasized that the CJP would persist in its efforts to ensure that no protester faces legal consequences.

"We will ensure that not a single protester who participated in demonstrations in their city faces any legal action. We have supported protesters from the beginning and will continue to do so," Das stated.

These recent developments occurred just hours after the CJP warned of resuming protests if the assurances regarding legal protection for demonstrators were not upheld.

The movement led by Abhijeet Dipke, which started as a satirical campaign and took its name from an insult, concluded its protest at Delhi's Jantar Mantar over the weekend following the resignation of Dharmendra Pradhan as Union Education Minister, one of the group's primary demands.
