The founder of the Cockroach People's Party (CJP), Abhijit Dipke, announced a nationwide public outreach campaign titled 'What Does the Public Say' on Thursday. The primary goal of this initiative is to understand the 'issues faced by the people'. Dipke emphasized that the initial focus of this campaign will be on education.
According to Dipke, the rising fees for schools, colleges, and coaching centers have made quality education increasingly inaccessible for many families. He pointed out that annual fees for Class 1 range between ₹1 lakh and ₹2 lakh, often accompanied by additional donations. He raised concerns about how middle and lower-income families can afford such expenses, questioning where families with limited income find the necessary funds. Dipke further claimed that the escalating costs of college and coaching are pushing families into debt, and he stated that the party aims to alleviate this financial burden.
He highlighted that the fees for colleges and coaching centers are also exorbitant, exacerbating the debt burden on families. Dipke asserted that parents should not have to bear such financial strain if they wish to provide their children with higher education. Emphasizing the need to make education accessible, he referenced Dr. B.R. Ambedkar, stating that education is a fundamental right. However, he lamented that in recent years, education has become merely a profit-making venture.
