CJP Announces Nationwide Protest Demanding Resignation of Chief Election Commissioner

New Delhi: Abhijit Deepke, the founder of the Cockroach People's Party (CJP), has publicly declared the date and location for a protest demanding the resignation of Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar. He stated that if Kumar does not resign by Saturday (September 26), the CJP will initiate a nationwide demonstration starting from October 2 (Gandhi Jayanti) in Mumbai.

On Friday, Deepke took to the social media platform X to announce,
“If Gyanesh Kumar does not resign by tomorrow, CJP will commence its nationwide protest from Mumbai on October 2. This movement will extend to cities across India. Let us pledge to save democracy this Gandhi Jayanti.”

Previous Ultimatum Given

During a press conference in Delhi on Thursday (September 24), Abhijit Deepke, along with Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka, issued a 48-hour ultimatum to Gyanesh Kumar. They accused the CEC of undermining democracy by removing millions of names from the voter list. The CJP referred to this as the preparation for “Jantar Mantar 2.0.”

The CJP claims that millions of votes have been deleted under the Special Intensive Review (SIR) process, which is adversely affecting the electoral process. The party is demanding not only Kumar's resignation but also the cessation of the SIR process and a related investigation.

Future Actions Planned

Deepke has made it clear that if the resignation is not forthcoming, the movement will begin in Mumbai and spread to other cities across the country. The CJP has previously achieved success after a prolonged protest at Jantar Mantar regarding the NEET paper leak and issues in the education system, resulting in the resignation of Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

As of now, there has been no official response from Gyanesh Kumar or the Election Commission.
