CISF and BSF Athletes Shine at Asian Karate Championships in Jordan

CISF Athletes Achieve Silver Medals

Two karate competitors from the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF), Priyank Bhadoriya from Delhi and Anshika Bhardwaj from Punjab, secured Silver Medals at the 24th Asian Karate Championships for Cadets, Juniors, and Under-21, which took place in Amman, Jordan, from September 8 to 11.

Priyank Bhadoriya, who joined CISF in 2025, participated in the Under-21 Men's -67 kg category. He advanced to the finals after defeating opponents from Oman, Tajikistan, and Macao, ultimately earning a Silver Medal after a close match against Saudi Arabia.

Anshika Bhardwaj, also a 2025 CISF recruit from Punjab, competed in the Under-21 Women's -68 kg category. She reached the finals by overcoming competitors from Iran, Jordan, and Saudi Arabia, but finished with a Silver Medal after losing to Saudi Arabia in the final match.

The Asian Karate Federation organized this championship, which featured young karatekas from various Asian countries competing in both Kumite and Kata events across Cadet, Junior, and Under-21 categories.

CISF, which supports 60 Central Sports Teams across various sports, has been proactive in encouraging its athletes to participate in both national and international competitions. The organization congratulated Priyank and Anshika for their remarkable achievements.

Historic Achievement by BSF Constable

In another notable achievement, BSF woman constable Kalyani Vishwakarma made history by becoming the first Indian woman to win a silver medal at the Senior Asian Karate Championships, as announced by the Border Security Force.

The BSF shared on X, "Mahila Constable Kalyani Vishwakarma of the BSF Karate Team has made both India and the BSF proud by securing the 2nd position/Silver Medal at the prestigious Senior Asian Karate Championships (Cadet/Under-21 category) held in Amman, Jordan from September 9 to 11, 2026."

Kalyani competed in the Kumite +68 kg category and reached the finals, marking a significant milestone as the first Indian woman to do so in this championship, ultimately winning the silver medal.

The BSF highlighted Kalyani's achievement as a historic moment for both the organization and the nation, expressing pride in her success.

The Director General of BSF extended heartfelt congratulations to Kalyani and her coach, wishing her continued success in the future.

Kalyani's silver medal not only adds to the accolades of BSF sports personnel but also signifies a pivotal moment for Indian women's karate on the Asian championship stage.
