BJP's Promising Prospects in West Bengal

Union Minister Chirag Paswan asserted on Tuesday that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is poised for a significant victory in the West Bengal assembly elections, stating that the electorate is weary of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee's "violent, corrupt, and authoritarian" rule.

As the president of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas), a partner in the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), Paswan spoke to reporters in Patna, emphasizing, "The people of West Bengal will vote to liberate themselves from Mamata Banerjee's dictatorial, violent, and corrupt governance."

He credited the extensive campaigning by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah for instilling confidence among the populace.

This statement came just a day before the second and final phase of voting in the West Bengal assembly elections.

Paswan expressed his strong belief that the NDA is on track for substantial victories in all five states where assembly election results are expected on May 4. "Mark my words, I am not making a prediction," he added.

His comments were made in the context of elections in Assam, West Bengal, Puducherry, Kerala, and Tamil Nadu.

When asked about a recent incident in Delhi involving the alleged shooting of a Bihar resident by a police constable, Paswan was also questioned.

Opposition leaders, including Tejashwi Yadav, the acting national president of the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD), have accused the BJP-ruled areas like Delhi of harboring "hate crimes" against people from Bihar.

In response, Paswan stated, "As a partner in the ruling coalition, we are committed to ensuring that no one faces discrimination and that the Prime Minister's mantra of 'Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas' is strictly followed."

He criticized Yadav, saying, "Such leaders tarnish Bihar's image. During election campaigns in other states, they only seek to prove that the BJP has ruined the state. These individuals have no right to complain."

Leaders from the RJD, part of the Indian National Developmental Inclusive Alliance (INDIA), have campaigned in favor of their allied parties in Kerala, Tamil Nadu, and West Bengal.
