On Tuesday, Chief Minister A. Revant Reddy met with Union Agriculture Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan to discuss the impact of El Niño on the 'VB-G Ram-G' scheme. During their meeting, Reddy urged for the inclusion of ten additional projects aimed at improving farmers' livelihoods, requesting permission to establish vegetable sheds, fodder plots, mulberry orchards, and silk worm rearing facilities.

Reddy also emphasized the need for opportunities to develop farmers' land, enhance water conservation, and rehabilitate land affected by natural disasters. He requested that the 'Indiramma Houses' initiative be added to the 'VB-G Ram-G' list, along with a provision for beneficiaries to receive 90 days of work. Considering the El Niño situation, Reddy proposed adding extra projects under MGNREGS to further support farmers' livelihoods.

He sought approval for specific projects such as trellises for vegetable vines, fields for fodder, mulberry cultivation, and silk worm rearing facilities. Additionally, he requested that farmers be allowed to work on land restoration, water conservation, and rehabilitation of land damaged by natural calamities. Earlier this month, the Chief Minister mentioned that the state government is exploring ways to assist local farmers in areas where centralized kitchens have been established, encouraging them to grow organic crops so that vegetables, rice, and other essentials can be sourced directly from these farmers.

Corporate Social Responsibility Initiatives

Representatives from the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation, Divis Laboratories Limited, and Aravind Pharma Limited met with Revant Reddy at the MCRHRD Institute in Hyderabad. During this meeting, Divis Laboratories and Aravind Pharma presented CSR funds to the Hare Krishna Movement Charitable Foundation for a breakfast program in government schools, in the presence of the Chief Minister.
