Strengthening Connectivity in Narayanpur

On Friday, Vishnu Deo Sai, the Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, delivered a powerful message of 'development, trust, and good governance' during his two-day visit to the Naxal-affected Narayanpur district. The Chief Minister not only reviewed the 'Chief Minister Bus Service Scheme' initiated for remote tribal areas but also engaged directly with villagers by traveling on the bus.

According to an official statement, the Chief Minister traveled approximately four kilometers from Kurusnar with villagers on a bus operating under this scheme. This initiative aims to enhance connectivity in remote and border tribal regions, integrating them into the mainstream.

During his journey, Sai interacted with fellow passengers to gather their insights on how the bus service has improved mobility and access to essential services in the Maoist-affected area. The visit was perceived as a strong message of development, trust, and governance in Narayanpur.

The statement highlighted that these services have restored public transport in areas that had been largely cut off for nearly a decade due to Maoist violence.

Public-Private Partnership Model

The bus service operates under a public-private partnership model, where a private operator is responsible for the operations, while the state government oversees route planning and monitoring. The initiative aims to provide safe, affordable, and reliable transportation to tribal communities, promote social inclusion, and strengthen regional road transport.

Sai is on a two-day visit to Narayanpur, where he was welcomed in a traditional manner by villagers during his visit to the Garbengal Ghotul near Chendru Park.

Later, at another event, the Chief Minister launched the 24th installment of the Mahatari Vandan Yojana (financial assistance scheme), which provides eligible married women with ₹1,000 per month. During this event, ₹641.34 crores were transferred to the bank accounts of 6,839,592 women beneficiaries across the state through direct benefit transfer.

Additionally, during his visit, the Chief Minister inaugurated 357 development projects worth ₹351.49 crores at the district-level Bastar Pandum program held at the Narayanpur high school ground.
