Significant Flight Schedule Adjustments Announced

Jaipur. Starting from March 29, 2026, the flight operations at Jaipur International Airport (Sanganer Airport) will undergo a complete overhaul. This date marks the implementation of the Summer Flight Schedule (Northern Summer Schedule), which may lead to considerable inconvenience for travelers. Reports indicate that approximately 15 flights are expected to be discontinued, significantly impacting connectivity within Rajasthan.

Currently, under the winter schedule, Jaipur Airport operates an average of 66 flights to 26 cities daily. However, this number is projected to drop to around 53 during the summer schedule. The most affected routes will be those connecting to Jaisalmer, Jodhpur, Bikaner, and other cities in Rajasthan, with many direct flights potentially being completely suspended. This reduction is attributed to a decline in tourism and business demand during the summer season, prompting airlines to reallocate their capacity to larger routes.

Airlines such as IndiGo, Air India Express, Star Air, and Alliance Air have already begun preparing for these schedule changes. Some routes may see reduced frequency, while others could be entirely suspended. International flights to destinations like Dubai and Abu Dhabi may also be affected, but the primary impact will be on domestic and regional connectivity.

The airport authority and airlines have advised passengers to confirm their bookings, as last-minute changes are likely. Travelers may need to consider alternative routes, such as connecting flights from Delhi or Ahmedabad.

Experts note that such reductions in the summer schedule are common; however, this year, the ongoing Iran-Israel conflict has already disrupted several international and Gulf routes, adding extra pressure on domestic schedules. Jaipur Airport is now the second busiest airport in North India after Delhi, averaging 60-70 flights daily. The summer schedule will run from March 29 until October, when the winter schedule will take effect.
