Chamba Officials Urged to Accelerate Forest Conservation Act Approvals

In Chamba, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal has called for an urgent acceleration of case approvals under the Forest Conservation Act. During a review meeting, he stressed the need for improved coordination among departments to resolve pending cases efficiently. Repswal also directed the preparation of cases under the Forest Rights Act for educational institutions. With several cases already in the approval pipeline, the focus remains on addressing objections swiftly and ensuring timely documentation. This initiative aims to streamline developmental projects in the region.

During a recent review meeting focused on the Forest Conservation Act (FCA) in the Churah Forest Division, Deputy Commissioner Mukesh Repswal highlighted the importance of speeding up the approval process for various developmental projects. He urged officials from relevant departments to enhance coordination and maintain transparency to ensure that outstanding cases are resolved within the designated timeframe.


Repswal also instructed the Deputy Director of Higher Education to compile cases under the Forest Rights Act (FRA) for the construction of educational facilities. He emphasized the necessity of addressing any objections related to pending cases swiftly and ensuring that all necessary documentation is completed promptly.


The Deputy Commissioner noted that a total of 25 cases under Parivesh-1 and 5 cases under Parivesh-2 have been uploaded and are currently awaiting approval.


The meeting included participation from Divisional Forest Officer Sushil Guleria, Deputy Director of Higher Education Vikas Mahajan, Executive Engineer of the Public Works Department Joginder Sharma, and Assistant Engineer Sanjeev Atri.
