Central Minister Urges Mamata Banerjee to Accept Election Defeat
Call for Acceptance of Election Results
On Tuesday, Central Minister Sukant Majumdar urged West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee to acknowledge her defeat gracefully. He emphasized that there has been a 20% increase in Hindu voters, asserting that any political party questioning this mandate is destined for failure. Majumdar stated that Banerjee should accept her loss with dignity, as allegations of tampering with CCTV footage and physical altercations do not reflect well on her; she should refrain from making such accusations.
He highlighted that the rise in Hindu votes is significant, noting that voters stood in line to cast their ballots, and the Election Commission did not manipulate the process. Political parties that challenge the public's mandate do not have a promising future. In an interview, he criticized Trinamool Congress General Secretary Abhishek Banerjee, dismissing his comments about Union Home Minister Amit Shah as inconsequential. Majumdar reiterated that the BJP government prioritizes national interests above all.
Election Commission's Role in West Bengal and Kerala
The same Election Commission conducted elections in both West Bengal and Kerala. While democracy triumphed in Kerala, it became a contentious issue in Bengal. Regardless of the party you support, the comments made by Abhishek Banerjee regarding Home Minister Amit Shah are trivial. Let the government take shape and the Chief Minister's oath-taking ceremony occur; then the Chief Minister will decide on priorities. However, as a party worker, I assert that the national interest remains the BJP's top priority.
