Dimapur, July 2: The initial phase of house listing for Census 2027 has officially started in Nagaland as of Wednesday, with the process set to continue until July 30.
During this phase, a team of Census officials, led by Kohima's Deputy Commissioner and principal Census officer B Henok Buchem, conducted the house listing at the Lok Bhavan, the official residence of Governor Nand Kishore Yadav. The listing was executed following established protocols.
In a circular issued today, Kohima DC Buchem stated that enumerators and supervisors will visit each household throughout the 30-day period to gather data on housing features, essential amenities, and household possessions. The administration has guaranteed that all information collected will be kept strictly confidential.
The district administration has urged all residents, along with village and ward leaders and civil society organizations in Kohima district, to fully cooperate with the Census officials to ensure a successful and comprehensive Census.
In Noklak district, SDO (Civil) and charge officer Vikhoto Richa, accompanied by supervisors and enumerators, visited the DC's residence for house listing earlier in the day.
